How Do Resistors in Parallel Work?

computers

Resistors in a parallel circuit configuration each have the same potential voltage difference. Their total equivalent resistance (Req ) is given by:

1/Req = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + … + 1/Rn

If there are only two resistors in the parallel circuit, then a much quicker way of obtaining their equivalent total resistance (Req) is given by:

Req = R1xR2 / R1+R2
